Barents Parka - Dark Olive
The robust, waterproof signature parka from Fjällräven, with synthetic insulation making it perfect for more changeable and unpredictable winter weather.
A longer length, hardwearing winter parka for changeable winters - the perfect choice for conditions when temperatures can fluctuate between above freezing with sleet to below freezing with snow. The super durable Supreme Microloft padding provides warmth, but the Barents Parka has less padding than some of Fjällräven’s larger winter jackets making it more functional even when the temperature is around zero.
The outer fabric is G-1000 original with reinforcements in G-1000 HeavyDuty and a Hydratic membrane to make sure water is kept out. Keeping your head dry, the generous hood has a detachable synthetic fur edging - adding to the versatility when you need some extra protection from falling snow. A generous number of pockets across the jacket provide practical storage - with a vertical chest pocket, bellow pockets lower down, a hidden napoleon pocket and two inside pockets.
Drawcord at the hem allows for a perfect fit and sealing in heat, with long two-way zipper with protective flap and press buttons to keep the elements out. Sleeve cuffs can be adjusted with Velcro. Its classic cut and robust materials make Barents Parka suitable for both every day use and outdoor life – without having to worry about getting wet.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
The story behind Fjällräven began in 1950 when Åke Nordin, a 14-year-old boy from Örnsköldsvik in Northern Sweden, was about to go for a trek in the mountains. Åke, who spent more time outdoors than indoors, did not like the backpacks that were available at that time. He decided to take matters into his own hands and built a wooden pack frame.
To this day Fjällräven stays true to Åke's vision of offering functional equipment for journeys in the outdoors. Fjällräven develop environmentally friendly fabrics and co-operate with partners to improve the environment and support biodiversity.
