A simple, robust and comfortable everyday backpack from Fjällräven, the Greenland Backpack was inspired by one of Fjällräven’s many loyal users who redesigned his worn out Greenland jacket into a bag he could use on his kick-sled!
Made from durable G-1000 HeavyDuty that protects contents and takes on an attractive sheen with age. The main compartment is top loaded and has a drawstring. The top flap is closed using a leather strap and metal buckle at the front.
Inside the main compartment is a pocket for valuables and a compartment with a padded base for a laptop computer (up to 13 inches). The back panel is padded and a wide, strong textile strap makes both handles and shoulder straps, the latter of which are adjustable for a good fit. Additional Greenland Wax can be added to the backpack for extra protection against dirt and moisture, something that also further enhances durability.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
The story behind Fjällräven began in 1950 when Åke Nordin, a 14-year-old boy from Örnsköldsvik in Northern Sweden, was about to go for a trek in the mountains. Åke, who spent more time outdoors than indoors, did not like the backpacks that were available at that time. He decided to take matters into his own hands and built a wooden frame.
This backpack frame was the start of Åke's company, Fjällräven, in 1960. The name Fjällräven means Arctic Fox in Swedish and the name is in honour of the small predator which lives in the Swedish mountains in the harshest of climates.
