    DESCRIPTION

This light and packable women's anorak from Fjällräven made in wind-resistant polyamide/organic cotton is a simply designed, perfect choice for windy days.

Fjällräven’s product developer Daniel Holmgren says: “Perfect for a windy day in all its simplicity. The waxed surface repels drizzle and dries quickly. Thumbholes keep your hands dry when you need to work on packing. The kangaroo pocket has space for the essentials and makes the anorak easy to pack and easy to access in your bag.”

A light, pliant and packable anorak that protects against cold winds, the High Coast Wind Anorak is a smart garment that can be pulled on quickly when out on day trips walking, cycling or paddling. Made from a waxed polyamide and organic cotton fabric that is water resistant and dries fast when it get wet.

Pared down to the essential details, all to allow you to save weight and pack light. The well-fitting hood is adjustable, with a draw string hem at the waist and there is a half-length zipper at the front and a kangaroo pocket that doubles as a pack bag to stow the jacket away. The sleeve cuffs have elastic edging and thumb holes that keep sleeves in place. The wax impregnation makes the jacket water resistant; it will keep you dry during light showers but not during a downpour or constant rain.

          Provenance and Ethics

The story behind Fjällräven began in 1950 when Åke Nordin, a 14-year-old boy from Örnsköldsvik in Northern Sweden, was about to go for a trek in the mountains. Åke, who spent more time outdoors than indoors, did not like the backpacks that were available at that time. He decided to take matters into his own hands and built a wooden frame.

To this day Fjällräven stays true to Åke's vision of offering functional equipment for journeys in the outdoors. Fjällräven develop environmentally friendly fabrics and co-operate with partners to improve the environment and support biodiversity.
