DESCRIPTION
These traditional wool blankets from Pendleton are robe size, making them large enough to be worn, wrapped around oneself for warmth and weather protection.
By masterfully balancing a plush, napped side for sheer comfort with a smooth, unnapped side that highlights the crisp geometry of the Canyonlands motif, this blanket doubles as an exquisite piece of textile art. The integration of premium virgin wool and meticulous felt-bound edging ensures this Pacific Northwest-crafted piece serves as a durable, multi-generational investment that honours over a century of American weaving excellence. These blankets fit perfectly over a double bed, can be used for wall hangings or just for cuddling up on the sofa.
From Pendleton: “A dazzling rendition of our Canyonlands pattern, specially crafted and richly coloured to evoke a vintage blanket. One side is napped for softness and warmth; the reverse is unnapped, to showcase the design’s intricate jacquard. Hand-cut rounded corners recall the shape of heirloom blankets from the earliest days of our Oregon mill.”

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
Pendleton's family history in Oregon dates back to 1863 when Thomas Kay, a young English weaver opened his own mill in Salem, Oregon. In 1909 Thomas's three grandsons, Clarence Morton Bishop, Royal Thomas Bishop, and Robert Chauncey Bishop opened Pendleton Woolen Mills. Six generations later Pendleton Woolen Mills is still run in Oregon by the Bishop family.
