Originally founded as Rock Solid Manufacturing by David Lane in 1981, In 1990 Lane brought Jeremy Guard, a fellow climber, into the fold and in 1991 they renamed the company Arc’teryx - a nod to the Archaeopteryx lithographica, the first reptile to develop feathers for flight - the first bird - and the brand’s instantly recognisable logo is a depiction of the Berlin specimen of the Archaeopteryx. Their philosophy is guided by the belief that durability is the strongest path to sustainability.
The Brokedown Palace supplies outdoor clothing, equipment and accessories. We have two locations in east London, UK - Shoreditch and Spitalfields.
Our love for nature means we also want to protect it. We stock responsible brands who share our values, and make great performing, long-lasting gear. We supply multi purpose products that work whether our customers are cycle commuting in London, or backpacking in the mountains.
Our brand list includes cult Californian outdoors brand Patagonia, andFjällräven - the Swedish brand known for their iconic Kånken backpacks. The American north west is represented by Pendleton, Danner and Filson. Not forgetting our UK roots, we also stock heritage British mountaineering brand Rab.
