DESCRIPTION
The Caped Merganzer Hat from Patagonia excels during long sessions on the water and full days in the sun. Depending on your need for sun protection and airflow, this quick-drying, sweat-wicking hat can be worn three ways, thanks to the adjustable cape. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.
The breathable fabric is built of 100% recycled polyester stretch ripstop, with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without intentionally added PFAS to shed light moisture, and offering 40+ UPF sun protection. With a wider-than-average floating brim providing even more sun protection. When the cape is buttoned down, the wider brim allows more airflow. The brim rope can be used as a chin strap to help keep the hat in place during windy days or duck dives. Lightweight, low-profile sweatband offers moisture and temperature management, with miDori™ bioSoft for added wicking and softness.
Designed to be worn three ways. For maximum sun coverage, wear it with the cape buttoned in front of your chin. For moderate coverage and some airflow, button the cape behind your neck. For maximum airflow, tuck the cape up into the adjustable back strap.
