DESCRIPTION
A warm, stretchy, and breathable fleece-like hoody with the added benefits of abrasion and weather resistance, this cool-weather crosslayer was designed by Patagonia for extended versatility in shifting mountain conditions.
The R1 TechFace Hoody features a slim, athletic fit and an adjustable, stretchy hood with a laminated visor that provides coverage and visibility with or without a helmet. The hem is easily adjustable by pulling a cord tucked inside the handwarmer pockets and releases via low-profile cord locks at the front. The lightweight double-weave fabric, composed of 90% recycled polyester and 10% spandex, is soft next to the skin but doesn’t trap heat, while the smooth outer face resists snagging and is treated with a DWR finish to shed moisture.
An articulated pattern allows for a wide range of movement, specifically for reaching overhead, while low-bulk, variable-condition cuffs stay out of the way when reaching for handholds. For storage and ventilation, the hoody includes an external zippered chest pocket and two high, mesh-backed handwarmer pockets that remain fully accessible even when wearing a climbing harness or a pack waistbelt.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
Patagonia was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, the company's roots are in clothing for rock and alpine climbing, but they now produce a diverse mix of apparel targeted towards skiers, snowboarders, surfers and climbers. Patagonia are a world leader in creating ethical, sustainable clothing.
