PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
In 1892 Stockholm, F.W. Lindqvist and J.V. Svenson invented the first soot-free kerosene stove, named Primus ('first'). This revolutionary stove became crucial for exploration, fueling Amundsen's 1911 South Pole journey and Hillary and Norgay's 1953 Everest ascent. Primus stoves established a legacy of reliability on extreme adventures, a tradition they maintain today.
