DESCRIPTION
For climbing trips and backcountry objectives that require rugged warmth without adding weight, the Durable Down Hoody from Patagonia combines lofty 700-fill-power 100% Recycled Down with synthetic insulation at the cuffs and underarms. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.
Built with a lighter-weight version of their Workwear Steel Forge fabric, this is a burly, midweight insulated jacket that’s still light enough to deploy at the belay. A soft and comfortable lining is lighter than the exterior fabric to reduce bulk for better packability and mobility. Discontinuous quilting keeps the 100% Recycled Down (a blend of duck and goose down and waterfowl feathers reclaimed from down products) insulation in place for warmth. Then the cuffs and underarm areas have 80-g Thermogreen® 100% recycled polyester synthetic insulation for longevity of loft and reduction of water uptake. The broad shoulders and discontinuous quilting prioritises overhead reach and provides mobility and loft.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
Patagonia was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, the company's roots are in clothing for rock and alpine climbing, but they now produce a diverse mix of apparel targeted towards skiers, snowboarders, surfers and climbers. Patagonia are a world leader in creating ethical, sustainable clothing.
Responsible Down Standard: All virgin down that Patagonia uses is traced from farm to shelf, so that the birds who supply it are protected. The Responsible Down Standard describes and (independently) certifies animal-welfare practices in down and feather production from the farm to the final product.
Fair Trade: Patagonia now use more than 20 Fair Trade factories that specialise in the production of outdoor clothing, paying a premium for every Patagonia item that is made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory. They actively encourage other brands that do business in those factories to join them in the Fair Trade movement, ensuring living wages within the supply chain.
