DESCRIPTION
The Micro Puff Hoody from Patagonia combines ultralight Pertex® Quantum shell fabric with PlumaFill insulation, resulting in the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any jacket they've ever created and the highest compressibility of any of their synthetic jackets. It is your go-to insulation piece for mixed (and possibly miserable) cold conditions.
The ultralight, windproof Pertex® Quantum shell is made of NetPlus® - a 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop that's made from recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution. With a PFC-free DWR finish (durable water repellent coating that does not contain perfluorinated chemicals) to keep off the rain.
Inside, revolutionary lightweight PlumaFill insulation replicates the structure of down in a continuous synthetic insulation material, offering the warmth and packability of down but with the warm-when-wet performance of synthetic insulation. Its innovative quilting construction complements the insulation by stabilising and maximising the loft of the PlumaFill strands with minimal stitching.
The centre-front zipper has a storm flap and zipper garage at the chin for next-to-skin comfort, the pattern provides high mobility, with a backpack- and harness-compatible fit. Two welted, zippered handwarmer pockets and two internal drop-in pockets - and the left pocket doubles as a stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop. Helmet-compatible hood construction is light and simple and elasticised cuffs and adjustable hem will seal in the warmth.

PROVENANCE & ETHICS
Patagonia was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, the company's roots are in clothing for rock and alpine climbing, but they now produce a diverse mix of apparel targeted towards skiers, snowboarders, surfers and climbers. Patagonia are a world leader in creating ethical, sustainable clothing.
NetPlus® Recycled Nylon: Since 2014, Patagonia has supported Bureo’s development of NetPlus through Tin Shed Ventures®, Patagonia’s venture capital fund. Initially used in products like caps as hat brims were fairly straightforward, theirr material developers had to work closely with the supply-chain partners to figure out a way to chemically transform the plastic in the fishing nets into a high-quality yarn that can be used in other garments, too. From the 2022 season, 344 metric tons of nets will be woven into Patagonia clothing in a range of products from Patagonia's hat brims to jackets , Costa sunglasses, Futures surf fins - and even Jenga games.
